Meitheal is a National Practice Model which ensures that the needs and strengths of children and their families are effectively identified, understood and responded to in a timely way so that children and families get the help and support needed to improve children’s outcomes and realise their rights.
It is a multi-agency approach that can be used across all child and family services. A number of Meitheal meetings will be held where services that will potentially support a child will be brought together at the parent’s request. The Meitheal group will agree a co-ordinated plan to support the child/young person to achieve in all areas of their life. Child and Family Support Networks (CFSN’S) are defined as collaborative networks of community, voluntary and statutory service providers intended to improve access to support services for children and their families
