New online hub offers free and confidential support to LGBTQ+ youth

As part of the 2022 Annual Better Out Than In campaign, BeLonG To are letting LGBTQ+ young people know that there are people they can talk to about their worries and fears without judgement – no matter how big or small.
They have created an online hub to direct LGBTQ+ youth to a range of free, confidential support services.
It allows users to check out face-to-face, online, phone, and text supports so that they can share what’s going on.

A new resource pack for the LGBTI+ community has been created by the Galway LGBTI+ Interagency Group, which is a partnership comprising of statutory, community and voluntary organisations from across Galway city and county.
It contains a sample Code of Practice Guide for organisations along with a description of the role of the code of practice leader.
It also contains information on available training, support services, relevant organisations, and some helpful definitions.
This is the first of its kind in Ireland, and it was developed specifically to support the relationships and sexual wellbeing of LBQ women.
This was a joint initiative between Sexual Health Centre Cork, LINC and the HSE Sexual Health Crisis Pregnancy Programme. Feel free to circulate this resource to your networks.
shOUT LGBT+ Youth Project and Youth Work Ireland Galway have developed a ‘Safe Spaces’ resource pack for people who work with LGBT+ young people.
The physical pack comes with posters and stickers in English, Irish and Polish.
This is a telefriending service for members of the LGBTI+ community over 50 years of age who may be experiencing loneliness and isolation.
Those referred to the service will receive a weekly supportive call from a dedicated LGBTI+ telefriending colunteer.
Individuals can self-refer or be referred by services through the dedicated website at: https://lgbt.ie/telefriending/ where they can select the 'Apply Now' button to complete the online referral form.
