A practical and positive evidence-based course for parents who are preparing for, going through or have gone through a separation or divorce will take place in Castlebar, Co Mayo in November and December next.
Parenting when Separated is a 6 week programme that will run every Tuesday from 7th November – 12th December between 10am and 12.30pm in The Family Centre, Castlebar.
This course will be facilitated by Frances Croden and Michelle O’Mahony of the Mayo Community-Based Family Support Team. 
Topics covered during the programme include:
- Solving co-parenting problems in a positive way that focus on the needs of children.
- Coping with the emotional impact of separation and learn stress management techniques.
- Help your children cope with the impact of the separation both emotionally and practically.
- Enhance communication with their children and with their children’s other parent.
There is a €20 cost for this programme which covers the course materials and can be paid in instalments.
