TUSLA runs Child and Youth Participation training online this summer

TUSLA – the Child and Family Agency – is offering Child and Youth Participation Training online this summer.

There are several modules of learning to be completed in successive order as part of this blended learning programme that has been devised to suit all disciplines within the Child and Family Agency and partner agencies.

The following modules must be completed to receive certification:

  1. eLearning Module: ‘Child and Youth Participation – An Introduction’. (40 minutes) to be completed by 26th July 2023
  2. Virtual Classroom 1: ‘Child and Youth Participation: Applying the Lundy Model of Participation’. (3.5 hours) 26th July 2023
  3. Virtual Classroom 2: ‘Child and Youth Participation: Sharing the Learning’. (2 hours) 26th September 2023

Aim:

To support an organisational culture change to facilitate greater child and youth participatory practice in Tusla and funded agencies.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the training participants will be able to:

  1. Define what Participatory Practice is
  2. Apply the “Lundy Model of Participation” in their work
  3. Utilise the “Child and Youth Participation Toolkit”
  4. Develop their own participatory practice plan
  5. Demonstrate and share their learning
