See Change, Ireland’s organisation dedicated to ending mental health stigma and discrimination, and West Be Well have partnered to bring you ‘Let’s Talk Mental Health Judgement’
This public event, which will take place in Tuam, Co Galway on March 22 next, will explore the topic of mental health judgment which is the theme of the 2023 Green Ribbon Campaign to end mental health stigma.
The March 22 event in Tuam will take consideration of the following theme in the context of mental health judgement:
- What mental health judgement looks like for women and where it shows up in society
- The feelings of being judged and judging others
- The double stigma of having a mental health difficulty AND being part of a minority group (LGBTQIA+, Traveller, migrant, etc.)
- The challenges women face in getting mental health support
- What we can all do to help improve our mental health and wellbeing
- What we can all do to help end the unfair judgement of ourselves and others
The event will be hosted by See Change Programmes Leader, Barbara Brennan, who will be joined by:
- Charlie Meehan, Head of Mental Health Service, HSE Community Healthcare West
- Nora Fahy, Manager at Roscommon Women’s Network
- Maria Walsh, Member of Parliament (joining virtually)
- Aine Hurley, Mental Health Ireland Development Officer
- Michelle Clarke, See Change Ambassador
It will take place on Wednesday 22nd March from 11am to 1pm at the Ard Rí Hotel, Tuam, Co Galway
