The Living Well Programme is now up and running for Spring and Summer 2023.
This free group self-management programme is aimed to help people over 18 years manage their long-term health conditions and improve their well-being. It is also open to those caring for someone with a long-term health condition.
Anyone with any chronic illness such as diabetes, arthritis, COPD, cardiac illness, anxiety, etc. can benefit from these workshops. The programme may also be a help for people living with long-Covid.
The programme teaches participants the skills and confidence to help them self management and live with their condition.
- Setting goals to make changes in your life;
- Making plans to achieve those goals;
- Problem solving;
- Managing your medication;
- Coping with difficult emotions, low moods and feelings of depression;
- Managing pain, fatigue and sleep problems;
- Communicating well with family, friends and healthcare teams
These skills become the toolkit for better health.
The programme is comprised of one 2.5 hour workshop every week for six weeks.
The workshops are relaxed and friendly and can be undertaken in person or online.
They are facilitated by trained leaders including many who are living with long-term health conditions themselves.
