Anam Cara – the organisation set up by bereaved parents for bereaved parents – will be facilitating a workshop for frontline professionals who are in contact with bereaved families in Castlebar, Co Mayo on Tuesday, March 7 next.
The training will be delivered by facilitator Jannah Battigan in the TF Royal Hotel from 10am until 12 noon.
While grieving is a normal response to death and loss, families who have experienced the death of a loved one may be struggling with their grief and require additional support.
This bereavement support could come from a number of sources in order to address their complex and potentially long-term needs.
Anam Cara Mayo is part of a national organisation that provides information, support and resources to bereaved parents after the death of their child.
Anam Cara understands the challenges front-line professionals must face each day when supporting these families, in particular those bereaved in traumatic circumstances.
The aim of the Bereavement Information Morning in Castlebar is: ‘To introduce you, as a frontline professional, to the differences between normal and complex grief and the importance of self-care’.
The event begins at 10.15am with tea/coffee and scones being served.
Start: 10.30am – Welcome
10.45am – Jannah input on the differences between normal and complex grief
