October is Mental Health Awareness month and Galway Co Council is encouraging people to look after their mental health by providing a series of free workshops running in Galway Public Libraries.
The “Five Ways to Wellbeing” workshops are being run by Mental Health Ireland across a range of dates and times and libraries.
Wellbeing is feeling good about yourself, the world around you and functioning well in everyday life, most of the time.
There are many things that can influence your wellbeing. These include exercise, diet, sense of belonging, relationships, career, self-care, spirituality, money, where we live, and sense of purpose.
Wellbeing is much broader than simply how happy you are. It also includes how satisfied you are with your life, your sense of purpose, and how in control you feel.
The Five Ways to Wellbeing are simple actions to practice each day to maintain or improve our mental health and wellbeing. Inspired by international research, they were developed by the New Economics Foundation in 2008.
These Five Ways to Wellbeing workshops are run by Mental Health Ireland as part of the Healthy Ireland At Your Library suite of programming and are open to all.
Admission is free but booking is required. Please contact the relevant library for you from the following list of workshop details to reserve your place.
