Suicide or Survive (SOS) is working in partnership with the HSE in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon to bring its free Wellness Workshop to The McWilliam Park Hotel, Kilcolman Rd, Claremorris, Co Mayo F12D153 on November 16 next.
A Wellness Workshop is a day for you to take time out and learn a wide range of practical tools and tips that you can use in your everyday life to improve your own wellness. Topics covered in the workshop include:
• Relaxation and stress management
• How to bring calm to your life
• The relationship between thoughts and emotions
• How to develop a wellness toolkit and daily wellness plan
• An introduction to mindfulness and meditation
Workshops are informal and relaxed. They are delivered in an atmosphere of genuine warmth and caring, blending fun and serious learning. The workshops are facilitated by people with both lived life experience of mental health difficulties, and people with experience of working in various mental health arenas.
SOS believe that you can learn to stay well – even through challenging times – by developing and using a range of strategies and preventative measures to manage and maintain your own mental wellness.
The workshop runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and includes regular refreshments and a light lunch. A comprehensive wellness workbook to support you in maintaining your daily wellness is also included.
There is no charge to attend a Wellness Workshop. SOS is fully funded to deliver the workshop through funding from the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention, The Iris O’Brien Foundation, their partners, donors and fundraisers. This makes the Wellness Workshop accessible to everyone.
