Suicide or Survive launches May mental health and wellbeing webinar programme

Suicide or Survive (SOS) – the nationwide suicide prevention charity that provides life-changing mental health programmes – has launched its wellness webinar schedule for May.

There are lots of topics to explore (see below) and registration is free.

Thursday, May 12 at 2pm

Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 – Join Suicide or Survive as it takes some time to explore just what is going on in our world. This webinar will look at some of the causes of loneliness, some of the detrimental affects of loneliness on physical and mental health and will also look at some ideas of how to tackle loneliness in our everyday ordinary lives

Hope and Despair

Join Patricia as she explores the topic of hope & despair. Learn about the story of the two wolves – which one wins, depends on who you feed the most! Learn what these emotions are and how to navigate them, as well as holding on to hope.

Keith Kelly – The Importance of Community

Join SOS CEO, Paula Lawlor as she chats with Keith Kelly.
Keith is a long time supporter of SOS and part founder of Jumpers for Goalposts. Last year he had a successful documentary about Football Club, Pearse Rovers and now is starting a new short documentary about his community of Ballybrack. It will document the social history of the area since the first major local authority housing estates of the 1970’s were built.

World Meditation Day

Discover the power of meditation and how it can support you to start your day off in a calm and peaceful way. Join Patricia and Catherine to celebrate World Meditation Day where we will focus inward to increase calmness, concentration, and emotional balance. The day will conclude with a 20-minute guided meditation to pause, to let go of the day, unwind your mind and create a space for calm and peace. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Taryn De Vere – 365 Days of Joy 

Join SOS and host Paula Lawlor as she chats with the incredible Taryn De Vere.

From Ramelton in Co Donegal, Taryn dedicated her January to being creative. Taking inspiration from household items, her fashion trend #objectdresschallenge went viral and her bright fashion choices put a smile on everyone’s face.  Now she is back with a new campaign: 365 Days of Joy. Everyday on her social media, Taryn shares a video with a suggestion of a short practice to invite more joy into your life.
