September events at the South Roscommon Family Resource Centre

The South Roscommon Family Resource Centre has an action-parked programme of events with a strong focus on wellness this September.

The Parent and Toddler Group will meet on Tuesday, September 7 from 10am to 10.30am for a walk in Roscommon Town Park (the castle entrance) – weather permitting.

A six week Women’s Space programme commences on Wednesday, September 8 next from 10am to 12 noon,

Bringing women together for chats, pampering and fun activities, this initiative is free of charge and resources are provided thanks to funding provided under GRETB Community Education.

If you would like to get involved in the weekly lunch time walks and chats geared at helping people get out for exercise and meet new friends then come along to the September 8 walk which runs from 1.1opm to 1.50pm. Contact the centre for more information.

A family support drop in service will be available at the centre from 9.30am to 11.30am on Thursday, September 9 next, providing help and information for anyone that may be finding things difficult at home.

A family wellness programme will also operate at the centre from mid September – in line with the prevailing Covid-19 related restrictions and online if restrictions do not permit.

This FREE 10 week programme will operate on Thursday evenings from 5-7pm.

Topics covered include: Understanding Mental Health; Cooking and Exercising as a Family; Constructive strategies for positive family living.

The sessions will be creative and engaging and are geared at families with children aged 7+

Also running throughout September is a Brazilian Women’s Group that will meet on Friday, September 9 from noon to 1.30pm, geared at helping Brazilian ladies to meet new people, practice their English and have fun.
