Free online wellbeing programmes for July

The HSE has collated a series of health and wellbeing programmes and resources for the month of July.

The initiative has been coordinated by Health Promotion and Improvement, Community Healthcare West,

The schedule includes the following mental health focused programmes which will be run online and are free of charge.

A stress control programme will commence this Monday, July 5.

Run over six, 90-minute online sessions this course will teach practical skills for dealing with stress.

Each session covers a different topic. Participants are encouraged to watch all six but can join at any stage for one or more sessions.

Minding Your Wellbeing is a mental health and wellbeing programme that can also be accessed for free online this month.

As we continue to adapt our lifestyles to deal with COVID-19 and are faced with different challenges, Minding Your Wellbeing aims to provide simple tools and guidance to develop and maintain a positive outlook by looking after our mental health and wellbeing.

The programme consists of a series of five video sessions of 20 minutes.

Also available this month is a short course on managing stress and anxiety.

Developed by the Department of Occupational Therapy in Mental Health in St James’s Hospital, the course is 40 minutes long and broken down into four parts:

   1: Introduction, what is occupational therapy, what is stress and anxiety

   2: Feelings – identifying and coping with them

   3: Thoughts – identifying and coping with them

   4: Behaviours – identifying and coping with them and a note on goal setting

The four parts of the course are delivered online via the links provided above and are all free of charge.
