Workshop explores pandemic’s impact on Galway Traveller community

The Covid-19 pandemic has starkly revealed the impact of key social determinants of health on the lives of the Traveller community.

On Wednesday, July 7 next this will be explored in more depth in a fascinating learning and dialogue workshop that will be hosted online by the Galway Traveller Movement

This event, which is called Build Homes, Build Health, Build Hope – Local Story of a Global Pandemic and its impact on the Galway Traveller Community, will spark a significant conversation.

The workshop will feature keynote addresses from two outstanding speakers – Dr. Michael Ryan, Executive Director, WHO Health Emergencies Programme and Dr. Aileen Kitching, Consultant in Public Health for the Galway area – as well as small group reflective conversations and further exploration of the social determinants of health.

The workshop will take place from 9.30am-12 noon next Wednesday, July 7.
